Best Humidifier Best Humidifier?

David asks…

What’s the best humidifier on the market for use in a baby’s nursery?

I’m looking for one that’s easy to fill and clean and that doesn’t have to be refilled every 4 hours.

answers:

I use to use a humidifier until my sons pulmonolgist said they could cause more harm than good because they are so hard to keep clean and bacteria just circulates around. My son has asthma so we cannot use one.

James asks…

What is the best type of humidifier for our house?

My husband and I live in an approx. 2000 sq. ft. home in Kansas, and it gets so dry in the winter. His hands get all cracked. I am thinking an in-duct humidifier may be the best, but would love recommendations on specific brands/types.

answers:

In-duct would be the best but also the costliest. I use a Holmes model that came from Wal-mart. I add water every few days and watch my indoor barometer and adjust the settings as necessary. We have only wood stoves for heat and this works well for us. I also change the filter often.

Donna asks…

Which humidifier is best for the baby room?

Which humidifier is the best and how to run it? Whan should be the humidity in the room? My baby is sick. Should i run it more if he is sick?

answers:

Calpol plug and nightlight worked for us when our son was sick. You just plug them into the socket at bedtime.
