Best Humidifier Humidifier For Baby?

Ruth asks…

Do you keep a humidifier in your baby’s room?

I’m due with #1 in October, and I just keep thinking that the air may be dry where I live and that his room will become dry. Then, I think if it’s too dry it could be bad for the baby – could it? Should I put a humidifier in his room? Does anyone else use a humidifier in their child’s room? What are the pros/cons?

Thanks! I’m just a soon-to-be first time mom with a ton of questions!!!

answers:

No I live in the south US and it stays fairly humid here. I do have a Vicks HealthWatch Monitor from babiesrus which tells the humidity and temperature, and has a scale on it that shows the healthy levels for both, and if that was to show me the humidity was too low I would go out and get a cool mist humidifier, but I havent had it go low yet, and also I have found that the humidity in y apartment rises significantly by boiling water on the stove.

James asks…

Do we need a humidifier for the baby when she arrives?

Also, will it make our room moist? like the carpets and walls and stuff?

answers:

I use one right now in our room for our 6 month old cause dry heat is sooo terrible for your body. It doesn’t make our walls, etc., moist, just the air, lol.
