Warm and Cool Mist Humidifiers
What are humidifiers? Mainly, humidifiers are used to inject moisture into a room or an entire room by escalating the amount of moisture; cool moisture or warm moisture.
There are two basic types: Cool and Warm humidifiers. Depending on what you prefer, you must look into each type of humidifiers before buying.
In addition, most people buy humidifiers not only to add humidity but also to alleviate skin problems, eliminate bacteria that cause allergies such as sinuses, disinfect air born diseases and help indoor plants grow.
Two types of these devices: COOL and WARM
COOL Humidifiers
? There are several types of humidifiers but the most common are Evaporative Humidifiers or called as Wick Humidifier. This type of humidifier releases cool moisture through the evaporated water inside its reservoir. What it basically does is that it blows air from the evaporation of the water. A single room with low humidity will have a higher evaporation rate.
? The other type of cool humidifier is the Impeller. Impeller diffuses tiny droplets of water thru its rotating disk that flings in the water. As a result, these tiny droplets of water create a mist that releases cool moisture in the room.
? Ultrasonic Humidifiers are the modern type of humidifier. Quite similar to impeller humidifiers, it produces cool mist by the use of ultrasonic sound waves that vibrates into the water. These tiny droplets then form as a cool fog that goes out. Ultrasonic are more efficient but somehow the most expensive one.
WARM Humidifiers
? Steam/Vaporizers are inexpensive and also very simple. Opposite to Evaporation Wick, these kinds of humidifiers release warm moist air. What it does is that it boils water down the steamer and releases warm vapor air that goes out into the humidifier exit and makes warm moisture in the room. The boiling process is advantage for disinfecting air born bacteria. This is the simplest type of humidifiers.
? Warm Mist Humidifiers are similar to steam humidifiers; the only difference is that is much cooler. Before it reaches out, the system cools the evaporated warm moist. Basically, the cooling process is done to avoid skin burns. In addition, the heating process cleans the air.
Don’t assume they all work the same. These products work differently from one another. The choice of which to buy is much easier if you know how they work. Another tip, humidifiers need to be clean every now and then to avoid mineral deposits.
